About

About us

Every village has a story worth telling

Cyprus' rural communities preserve cultural, historical, and environmental assets of national significance. Yet a substantial part of this heritage remains digitally undocumented, fragmented, or inaccessible to citizens, visitors, researchers, and policymakers.

Explorentia was established to address this national gap by providing institutional-grade digital infrastructure that enables communities to systematically preserve, manage, and promote their cultural identity in alignment with state priorities, national digital strategies, and research-driven innovation frameworks.

Our mission

To support Cyprus' national objectives in cultural heritage protection, digital transformation, rural revitalization, and sustainable tourism, by equipping communities with interoperable, accessible, and scalable digital tools.

Our mission aligns with

  • National Digital Strategy
  • Cultural Heritage Protection Frameworks
  • Rural Development & Smart Village Initiatives
  • Sustainable Tourism & Green Mobility Policies
  • Research & Innovation Priorities

We operate as a trusted institutional partner for public authorities, cultural organizations, and research bodies.

Our vision

A Cyprus where every rural community is part of a connected national digital ecosystem.

Enabling

  • structured documentation of cultural assets
  • accessible digital storytelling for citizens and visitors
  • visibility for local businesses
  • data-driven decision-making for public authorities
  • integration with national and European cultural networks

Our vision supports the state's long-term goals for digital inclusion, cultural resilience, and regional development.

Our story

Cyprus' villages hold centuries of heritage, yet many remain digitally invisible.

We identified critical gaps in

  • digital documentation
  • accessibility of cultural information
  • visibility of rural businesses
  • community capacity for digital transformation

Explorentia was created as a structured, scalable, and community-operated digital ecosystem that bridges these gaps through technology, cultural expertise, and institutional collaboration.

We provide communities with tools that are

  • lightweight and easy to operate
  • compliant with accessibility and interoperability standards
  • designed for long-term sustainability
  • aligned with national and EU frameworks

Collaboration with local authorities, cultural actors, and stakeholders.

  6. 06

    Research-driven innovation

Methodologies aligned with national and EU priorities.

Institutional & research impact

Measurable value across six domains
