Cookie policy
This page lists what Explorentia stores in your browser, what each item is for, what third-party content loads, and how to change your mind.
No analytics before you agree
No analytics cookies are set and no analytics script is loaded until you accept, on the website or during a route. If you decline, or simply ignore the question, the only things we store are the ones listed under "strictly necessary" below.
Strictly necessary
Stored in your browser, never sent to an advertising network.
- Your answer to the analytics question, so you are not asked again.
- A random identifier for your visit and your progress through a village route, so you do not lose it when the signal drops. It stays until you clear your browser data.
- Progress not yet sent because you were offline, kept for up to 7 days.
- Your chosen language.
Analytics — only with consent
Our analytics provider, PostHog, running in its EU region, sets a cookie and browser storage that let us count visitors, see which pages and points are used, and find where people get stuck. With your consent it also records how the screens were used, with everything you type hidden. We do not use any of this for advertising.
Videos and maps
Videos on point and business pages are played by YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode, or by Vimeo, which may set its own cookies. Maps are drawn from OpenFreeMap. When a video or a map loads, the provider receives your IP address and browser details.
Changing your mind
On the website, use the cookie preferences link in the footer of any page. During a route, open the language menu at the top of the screen and choose "Analytics settings". You can also clear this site's data from your browser settings, which removes everything listed above.
